Appum!

05/28/2020

My Opinion

Appum and Korma is my mom's new favorite recipe! She was so amazed by it that she started experimenting with them every other day. Appum is a type of pancake is South India made from fermented rice batter and coconut milk. Koroma is a mixed vegetable also made from coconut milk.

Making this dish was fun, but eating this dish was even better. It was very easy to make the batter, as all you had was to soak it overnight and wait for the magic to occur. The Korma, on the other hand, was a lot of work. It required a lot of spices and needed to be watched continuously. Korma is a very healthy dish filled with a variety of vegetables.

According to my research, South Indian food is one of the most environmentally friendly cuisines in the world. Most of the food in South Indian is served on banana leaves because it is considered relatively healthy and auspicious. Banana leaves as they are much more eco-friendly. Not only do they decompose in a very short time, which we all know most types of plastic do not, but they also save the extra time and effort that would have otherwise gone in washing the dishes.
