Introduction

This blog is very special to me and to anyone who enjoys food made with fresh organic ingredients. We have seen unprecedented times during the current pandemic we are experiencing. We all have been challenged to get creative about safely securing our food supplies. Due to the coronavirus, the restaurant industry has suffered immensely. A recent survey by Technomic confirms that 32 percent of adults plan to eat less at restaurants due to COVID-19 concerns. With many restaurants closed and supermarket shelves bare, and with heightened concerns around food safety, home cooking is making a comeback.

According to my research, 47% of people do not feel safe going to public places because of the virus. Due to hesitation around public gathering, many restaurants will have to change their business plan and rely less on customer hospitality. More people will become self-sufficient, and cooking at home will become the new norm.

Also, as people are working from home take up hobbies and start projects to fill the time during the coronavirus pandemic, gardening is blooming. Gardening eases concerns over food security as lockdowns slow the harvesting and distribution of some crops. According to my research, the U.S. seed company W. Atlee Burpee & Co sold more seed than any time in its 144-year history in March as the contagious respiratory virus spread. As a result of so many people gardening, our air and environment are so much cleaner and prettier.

This blog aims to motivate people worldwide to look beyond the negativity during these unprecedented times and focus on the positive view of life. Focus on nature! We, as a community need to take steps toward a cleaner, brighter, and greener future.
